A “vlog” is a video log (or video blog) that functions as a diary, journal or blog in video format. It’s become a vast growing popularity in forms of online video content today.

Why Should You Start Vlogging?

If you want to spice up your social media existence, there’s nothing quite like a video that captures people’s attention vlogging. It can enrich user experience and enhance sales. Vlogging is a form of promoting yourself, your products and your services, it can really boost your business marketing strategies.

There is no right way to do vlogging, it can act as a strategic marketing tool as well.

Create content that stays interesting to keep viewers engaged.

 Before getting started:

1.    Do your research

Familiarize yourself with what vlogging entails, establish what it takes to connect with an audience.

2.    Prepare

Spend some time thinking about what you aim to convey to your audience. Take the time to prepare a few notes or an outline that you can refer to during filming.

3.    Invest

Don’t try to film yourself while holding your camera, invest in a tripod.

4.    Be natural

Keep in mind, your viewers are tuning in because they enjoy your vlog, so avoid becoming a robot behind the camera.  Relax and enjoy talking about what you know.

5.    Ask a question

Similar to a blog post, the purpose behind a vlog is to engage your audience.  You can achieve this by asking your viewers their opinion on a topic or maybe a question for an upcoming video.

6. Keep your audience engaged

No lingering, say what it is you have to say and then stop filming.  People have an incredibly short attention span.

7. Create Your Own Video Channel

Interested in learning how to vlog on YouTube? Create a video channel on YouTube and add tags to your videos.  This will make your vlogs infinitely more comfortable to find.

8.   Go for it

Stop hesitating!  You will learn and get better as you go.  Taking the first step can be daunting, but you won’t learn if you don’t experiment.  The more vlogs you generate, the more relaxed you will feel in front of the camera.

Being captivating is part of being a successful vlogger. It’s way beyond the scope of this guide, and there are entire sites and courses dedicated to improving storytelling and marketing skills, YouTube is a good place to start .
